Dominique Shelton Leipzig, a renowned expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data governance, has announced the establishment of Global Data Innovation, a new advisory practice aimed at assisting leaders, board members, and CEOs in optimizing their companies’ data initiatives. With an increasing demand for improved technology governance in companies of all sizes, Leipzig’s insights, as detailed in her four books, will provide invaluable guidance to navigate the evolving landscape of data and AI governance.

The global economy is estimated to suffer a staggering cost of $9.5 trillion due to cybercrime in 2024. As a new administration approaches and regulatory concerns surrounding AI and data innovation take center stage, Leipzig’s expertise and knowledge in this field will prove crucial for companies seeking to position themselves as industry leaders. Her ability to forecast data and regulatory trends has earned her the moniker “The Oracle of Data” among business insiders.

Leipzig brings over three decades of trusted expertise and relationships with government leaders, leading academics, and Fortune 100 companies to her new advisory practice. She previously founded the Global Data Innovation Teams at two international law firms, including her role as a partner at Mayer Brown, where she provided strategic guidance to companies with a combined market capitalization exceeding $3 trillion.

Having trained and coached over 50,000 professionals on AI privacy and security, including executives from Fortune 100 companies, major universities, and judges specializing in privacy, AI, and cybersecurity, Leipzig’s influence extends beyond the corporate realm. Her testimony before the California Senate Judiciary has played a pivotal role in shaping key legislative decisions. Additionally, she serves as a trusted advisor to policymakers in Washington, actively contributing to the development of the nation’s first legislative and regulatory framework on artificial intelligence.

Leipzig is also the founder of the annual Digital Trust Summit, which brings together CEOs and board members to discuss data leadership in generative AI, privacy, and cybersecurity. The summit regularly attracts over 100 executives.

As an accomplished author, Leipzig has published four books on data leadership, including the internationally acclaimed and nationally bestselling “Trust: Responsible AI, Innovation, Privacy & Data Leadership.” The book recently received a Business Impact Award at the Frankfurt Book Fair and Awards Ceremony.

In addition to her new venture, Leipzig is the co-founder and co-CEO of NxtWork, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity in the C-suite and boardroom. She has been recognized as a “Legal Visionary” by the Los Angeles Times and was honored on the Forbes 50 Over 50 list. Her TedX talk titled “In the Age of AI: Trust is Key” has garnered over 1 million views.

Global Data Innovation, led by Leipzig, will also feature a distinguished board of advisors, including Homa Bahrami, board member of Fabrinet and FEI; Ron Given, board member; Christine Heckart, CEO and Founder of XAPA and board member; Roosevelt Giles, CEO of EndPoint Ventures and board member; Agnes Bundy Scanlon, board member of Truist and AppFolio; Hitesh Shah, Business Development Director at BDO; and Bhawna Singh, CTO of Okta Customer Identity.
